Governor Bala Renews Commitment to Building an Investor Friendly Bauchi
•As Bauchi Economic & Investment Summit Draws Nearer
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has said that his administration commits to positioning the state as a hub for business and investment, as the Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit, otherwise known as the Bauchi Roadshow draws nearer.
He was speaking during a Community Engagement Interactive Session held at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, today where he emphasized that the summit was designed to showcase Bauchi’s economic potential, define the role of the private sector in driving growth, as well as integrate the state’s economy into national and global markets.
Mohammed stated that economic growth must go beyond statistics, noting that development should translate into real improvements in the lives of the people.
While highlighting Bauchi’s unique advantages, including its population of over 10 million, with between 60 to 70 percent being young people, as well as vast natural resources, Mohammed said harnessing and processing these resources locally would expand the value chain, create jobs, and stimulate sustainable growth.
He emphasized the importance of forging partnerships with both local and foreign investors built on fairness, respect, and mutual benefit.
He, however, stated the reforms already initiated by his administration to make doing business easier in the state including streamlining land registration, strengthening security, ensuring transparency in governance, and intensifying the fight against corruption.
Assuring the stakeholders that the state government is committed to establishing robust legal frameworks to safeguard investments and protect investor confidence, Mohammed noted that strides made in the past six years in infrastructure development, governance reforms, and social stability have laid the groundwork for Bauchi’s economic transformation.
The session brought together a cross-section of business leaders, financiers, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, civil society organisations among others.
