Bauchi Gov’t speaks on measures to reduce food prices
The Bauchi State government has speaks on measures in selling food items to reduce the unnecessary prices across the state.
The Commissioner of local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmad Sarki Aliyu Jalam made this known during a meeting with Islamic and Christian leaders held at the Ministry on Thursday.
He said the measure would address illegal businesses of food stuff and other basic needs in the state.
According to him, Governor Bala Muhammad is seriously worried over the sharp practice in the food stuff business which is creating unnecessary hardship among the citizens, saying that government is determined to deal with the situation.
Ahmad Aliyu Jalam solicited the support from the religious clerics and the residents of the state in order to achieve the set goal.
On their parts, the religious leaders called on the state government with immediate effect on the preparation of the Committee, and offers necessary support to it with a view to achieve the desired goals.
They equally promised to support the initiative, which according to them is timely considering the cases dominating the business activities especially food stuff and other basic needs.
The decision would be taking for set up of the Committee and will be communicated to the public, price of measures of food stuff to legalize the business activities across the state.
