Air force chief visits Bauchi, identifies areas to tackle insecurity

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Tuesday, identified agriculture as a key sector towards addressing and tackling insecurity.

He spoke in Bauchi when he led senior officers of the force on a courtesy visit to the Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House.

The Air Force boss  stated that through agriculture people would be provided with empowerment opportunities  and poverty would be eradicated thereby minimising engagement of citizens in criminal activities.

He commended Governor Bala for his administration’s investment in agricultural activities saying it has paved way for the reduction of crime and criminality in the state.

He also acknowledged the tremendous support of the governor to the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies working in the state and emphasised that tackling insecurity requires efforts and support of all the relevant stakeholders.

“Your Excellency, we are here to seek for your continued support to the Nigerian Air Force. We have invigorated our operation in all the Air Force flash points. I want to reassure you that Air Force personnel will continue to exhibit high sense of patriotism and professionalism in the discharge of their operations.”

Responding, Governor Mohammed acknowledged the tireless efforts of the personnel of the Nigerian Air force towards supporting other security agencies to compliment the efforts of the state government in the maintenance of peace and security.

“I am highly delighted to receive you today. I have always seen you as a very professional senior Air Force officer with a focus to ensure effective service delivery. In Bauchi, we have recognised the importance of Air Force in the maintenance of peace, especially through their air surveillance operations.”
