Due to an increase in tuition and other fees for the university’s services, students at the University of Jos blocked the highways leading to campus on Tuesday in Plateau State.
The student protesters demanded an immediate reversal of the increase in school fees and other services provided by the University, which were organized by leaders of the Students Union Government of the institution.
Armed with placards with different inscriptions such as “If your children can afford the money, we can’t”, and “We don’t want to drop out of school”, among others.
The students said Nigerians were already going through a lot of hardship, hence the need for the authorities not to complicate the already bad situation with further fee increments.
