First batch of 16 ministerial nominees to be screened revealed

The Senate on Monday commenced screening of ministerial nominees submitted to it by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday last week.

The upper legislative Chamber, had, Thursday last week adopted a resolution to conduct confirmation proceedings on days outside the normal sitting days to finish the exercise in record time before proceeding on annual vacation.

In the first batch, President Tinubu submitted 26 ministerial nominees, saying, others from States not reflected would follow suit in a few days.

It cannot be confirmed at the moment if nominees from states yet to be appointed will be communicated before Senators embark on their annual recess.

Meanwhile, the nominees listed on the Order Paper which was sighted by DAILY POST on Monday for screening and confirmation are:

1. Senator Abubakar S. Kyari – Borno
2. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh – Edo
3. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike – Rivers
4. Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumum Utsev – Benue
5. Senator John Owan Enoh – Cross River
6. Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad – Sokoto
7. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar – Jigawa
8. Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar – Bauchi
9. Senator Abubakar Sani Danladi – Taraba
10. Barr Uju-Ken Ohaneye – Anambra
11. Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo – Ondo
12. Dr. Betta Edu – Cross River
13. Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim – Nasarawa
14. Arch Musa Ahmed Dangiwa – Katsina
15. Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji – Enugu
16. Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete – Delta

Meanwhile, checks reveal that two nominees have already been captured from Cross River State with one female nominee.
