As Katagum Emir presented with Staff of Office
Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has called on traditional rulers in the state to eschew partisan politics, saying his administration will not fold arms to watch any act of sabotage, confusion or disorder under any guise.
Mohammed was speaking today in Katagum Emir's Palace during the presentation of Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouq Umar where he reiterated his administration's commitment to supporting traditional rulers in an effort to expanding the provision of dividends of democracy to citizenry.
He congratulated the Emir for ascending the throne of his forefathers, calling on traditional rulers to emulate him and continue to work towards the continued peace, unity and development of their respective areas of jurisdiction in addition to maintenance of law and order in their various domains.
Governor Bala called on the traditional rulers to reactivate the traditional security system whereby strangers or suspicious movements would be reported to relevant authorities.
He added with a call on them to educate and enlighten their people on government policies and programmes for the improvement of their well-being.
Mohammed reiterated his administration's irrevocable commitment to the protection of lives and properties of citizens in addition to modernizing the palaces of all District Heads across the state.
His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Emirs serving and former governors were among other dignitaries present during the memorable occasion.
