… circulation to begin December 15
The Central Bank of Nigeria C.B.N has announced the introduction of a newly designed notes which will be in circulation as from the middle of December.
The Governor of the Apex Bank Mr Godwin Emefiele announced this at a news briefing held at the CBN headquarters in Abuja.
Mr Emefiele said the old notes would still be valid until January next year as the holders of such notes should begin to return them immediately.
He announced the suspension of bank charges on cash deposits to banks.
The notes affected by the new development are #200,#500 and #1000
